AFF Candidates

Skydive Midwest's Accelerated Freefall candidates of the 2011 season.

Scott Kervick - 100 Jumps, Coaches Rating!

Bio: Parachute packer
Why jump?: I wanted to learn to skydive because it's the closest I can come to flying on my own. It's also a great test and exercise of control, both mentally and physically.
Advice for others: Never get too cocky and always continue to learn. Ask questions no matter how dumb you might sound and visualize your dive flows from start to finish!

Tim Casey - A LICENSE!

Bio:
Why jump?: To get over my fear of heights.
Advice for others: Even if you are hesitant, DO IT! Or you might miss out on an opportunity to love skydiving.

Scott Poplawski - GRADUATED!

Bio: Gets his fix from his music and skydiving!
Why jump?: I knew at a early age I was born to skydive, its spiritual for me.
Advice for others: Don't wait 20 years like me, do it! Take your time, let all of the information soak in, trust the great instructors, the great gear, trust yourself, and relax, relax, relax you will fly J

Chaz Bartelt

Bio: A.D.D. Sufferer--Adventure Deficit Disorder
Why jump?: I started lessons when I was in my 20's, then let "I have a family" become my excuse for not going back. That was over twenty years ago. Don't let decades pass you by. Freefall is the best feeling on the planet. It's an "I can do anything if I can do this" feeling that lasts long after the skydive ends.
Advice for others: Anyone can do this. The A.F.F. instructors at Skydive Midwest are patient, professional and experts at what they do. A.F.F. is the best way to experience skydiving and is a blast.

Nick Strong

Bio: Nick "Strongman" Strong- Passion for scuba diving and skydiving (the youngin' of the candidates)
Why jump?: To get over my fear of heights, and to potentially get into a career that involved thrill and risk.
Advice for others: No matter how confident you are before your first jump alone, you'll always have a brief scare once you walk to the edge of the plane door before you freefall. However, do it while you're young. Great experience and great thrill (if even for 60 seconds).
