Bio: Being a tax accountant isn't nearly as exhilarating as it sounds (shocking!)...wanted some more excitement in my life. Why jump?: Did my first tandem jump a year ago to cross it off my bucket list and remember saying I would never jump solo. With a little encouragement, I proved to myself that I could do something I never imagined doing! Advice for others: Lots of deep breaths and RELAX!
Bio: Founder of Canopies for Kids Why jump?: There are few times in your life where you get to just live in the moment, and skydiving is one of them. It's just you and the jump; and in that moment you just have to let everything else go. It's an unbelievable experience; and to be able to combine that with helping sick children in the hospital makes it even more incredible. Advice for others: Check your gear, trust your gear, and listen to your instructors. After that just relax and enjoy the ride - and if you're going to jump... jump with a bear! www.canopiesforkids.com
Bio: 32 years old. Successful career as an electrical engineer. I spend a lot of time flying around the country for work, so by Thursday I'm usually ready to jump out of the plane. Just kidding I love my job... Why jump?: For the better part of life there has always been clearly defined lines in which we operate and live by. A formula by which we live: Monday morning wake up early go to work, work hard, go home, cook, eat, watch TV, sleep, and repeat... the weekend comes and you... Before I decided to get my license I did tandem jumps at skydiving facilities around the country. NONE of them offer what SDMW does. The instructors have an amazing ability to engage and effectively teach which keeps things safe and fun. From the moment you walk through the doors you will realize its not just a dropzone but a community of people and family. Then there is the jump. The English language has no combination of words to define the life changing expierence you get when you fly through the air. Advice for others: Trust your instructors. Trust your instructors. Pull your chute. Have fun.
Bio: Coder, longboarder, and adrenaline junkie. But most of the time I just enjoy being around good people/friends. Why jump?: Once you try skydiving it is almost impossible to not become addicted to the rush, and the feeling that is like nothing else. Also the skydiving community is amazing, and I love that I am slowly becoming a part of that. Advice for others: Neil told me before a jump that "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" and that has always helped me to just relax and not rush myself. The more calm you are before a jump, the more you envision each jump, the better they seem to go.
Bio: I'm a girl that has always played it safe and didn't take risks. Skydiving was something out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to challenge myself and do something different. Why jump?: It's an amazing feeling that I cannot describe in words. You just have to experience it for yourself. Also, the skydiving community is an awesome group of people. Advice for others: Don't think about it, just do it!
